Finding purpose in an unexpected place, I embarked on a real estate journey that transformed my life and gave me purpose in serving others. I’ve learned to cherish each moment and find balance between my career and my personal life.
When I first ventured into real estate, it came at a time when I was looking for a new direction, purpose, and change. This challenging time unexpectedly became a catalyst for a new chapter in my life. With experience in finance and business, I decided to take real estate courses at night while working full-time during the day. The prospect of having a real estate business and creating something of my own gave me a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
In 2014, I earned my real estate broker license and decided to jump into the industry headfirst. The first year was a trial by fire, filled with uncertainties and challenges; however, I managed to earn almost as much as I did in my previous position. This early success reassured me that I had made the right choice. I began my career working under Chris, a co-founder of the brokerage, who quickly became my mentor. Starting as his assistant, I learned the ropes of the industry, gaining invaluable experience.
Chris quickly recognized my potential, and I transitioned from being his assistant to his partner. This partnership provided me with a solid foundation and allowed me to participate in countless transactions. Doors kept opening in front of me, giving me comfort in knowing there were limitless opportunities out there for me.
Professionally, I have reached a point where I can be selective about the clients and properties I take on, ensuring they align with my values and business goals. This selectiveness has brought a new level of satisfaction and success to my career. I love the people I work with and am grateful to have such a fulfilling career. Real estate has led to much personal and professional growth, pushing me to dream big and not set limits on what is possible.
Real estate has profoundly impacted my life, particularly in terms of allowing me to focus on what is most important to me. I met my husband shortly before I obtained my real estate license, and he has supported me throughout this journey. We married in 2017 and have a wonderful little boy, Ryder, who is now 5. I’ve had the honor of watching Tommy’s two daughters, Hannah and Holly, grow up and it’s been a joy to support their growth. Being a mother has dramatically shifted my perspective. While I remain highly driven in my career, I place immense value on the time I spend with my family. They ground me and remind me of the importance of balance.
In 2023, we lost my mother-in-law to brain cancer, which was a devastating and eye-opening experience. Her sudden and unexpected passing made me acutely aware of how fragile and fleeting life can be. This profound loss compelled me to reevaluate my priorities and the way I spend my time. I realized that life is too short to be consumed by work, no matter how passionate I am about my career.
This perspective shift encouraged me to become more intentional about creating meaningful experiences and memories with my family and friends. I started to prioritize regular trips, family activities, and simple moments of joy, understanding that these are the moments that truly matter. This loss, although painful, has taught me the invaluable lesson of cherishing each moment. Whether I am with clients showing a home or with my family at the beach, I want to ensure I am present and giving 100% of myself.
My goal is to maintain a healthy balance between my professional and personal life. With the support of my family and the experiences I’ve gained, I’m confident in my ability to make the absolute most of life, building my business while remaining a dedicated mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
What keeps me passionate about real estate is the incredible opportunity to help people reach significant milestones in their lives. I genuinely believe that I get to witness God at work, guiding clients to the homes meant for them. It's a privilege to be part of these journeys and to assure my clients that everything will work out as it should, even if the timeline isn’t what they initially expected. With experience working with a wide range of properties, from new construction to luxury homes, vacant land, and townhomes, I am confident in my knowledge and expertise honed over 10 years of experience in real estate!
I’m known for my strong ability to connect with people and my meticulous attention to detail. By keeping you educated throughout the process and answering questions, I promote confident, informed buyers and sellers. Additionally, I coordinate the entire process with precision—no details are overlooked. This ensures you navigate the transaction with a sense of confidence and trust, knowing you have a reliable, knowledgeable professional in your corner.
Sincerely,
Kristen Gentry
